Photograph the front, sides, back, top and base in neutral light. Record dimensions, materials stated by the source, purchase context and any accompanying label.
Traditional and creative are not price grades
The categories describe different contexts of production and discussion. Neither category is automatically older, rarer or more valuable.
Attribution needs evidence
A base inscription can be useful, but handwriting, workshop marks and repeated names require careful comparison. Keep uncertain readings as uncertain.
Condition without drama
Fading, splits, staining and repairs should be documented plainly. Wear alone does not prove age, authenticity or market value.
